Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Young Texans Against Cancer “Kiss My Grits” cook off. I have to thanks my new friend Mr. Jay Ducote from for showing me some AMAZING hospitality in my own city. Kiss My Grits was hosted by Winter Street Studios in Houston and featured eleven local chefs and their innovative approach to Grits. Mr. Ducote came in from Baton Rouge, LA to be a judge for the event and invited me as his “+1” even though I forewarned him that I was not putting out. Continue reading

I had a great time at Red Bull Music Academy listening to Questlove of The Roots band (rumor has it Jimmy Fallon was also in the house) but he didn’t introduce himself… RUDE. Also, Houston’s own Bun B was present. Ain’t no party like a Red Bull Party:)

Grilled Chicken Drumettes, with Red Bull – Habenero "Buffalo" Sauce.

These came out REALLY good…they’ll definitely go on my upcoming "Red Bull Tasting Menu".

The Sauce:

8oz Red Bull

1-2 Habenero Pepper

2 TBLSPN Butter

1 TBLSPN Chili-Garlic Sauce.

Cut small slits into the Habenero pepper and put in a small pot with Red Bull. Bring it to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Bring the liquid back to a boil until it reduces to 1/3 the original volume. Add the chili-garlic sauce and butter, wisk and dress the wings while they’re still hot.
